SEM 607 16-Week Directed Study 17.5 College of Osteopathic Med
This spring term directed study course is designed specifically for the student who has successfully completed required pre-clinical coursework following the repeat of Principles and Practice of Osteopathic Medicine 2 course. This directed study is focused on providing support and guidance in preparation specifically for the osteopathic medical licensure examination - COMLEX-USA Level 1. This course is a customized educational program specifically for the student consisting of medical board preparation resources, individualized guidance and study skills development

SEM 701 Directed Study 8 College of Osteopathic Med
This course is designed and required for students who do not pass COMLEX Level II CE prior to graduation. This ten-week course will consist of three hours of Kaplan Prep, four hours of work in the health center along with OMM, two hours of work in the ICC and an additional hour of work with a designated mentor per week. In addition, students are required to work at home with Q Banks and sample exams. Students are required to bring with them the first day of class their score breakdown from the NBOME.

Maimonides Health Department of Psychiatry is providing a longitudinal experience for third and fourth year medical students from NYITCOM interested in pursuing residency training in psychiatry who want to learn basic skills in research and quality improvement. Research electives for medical students interested in psychiatry provide a valuable opportunity to delve into the world of mental health research, contributing to both personal and professional development. The experience typically spans 6 months to 1 year, allowing students to engage in meaningful projects over a period of time. The commitment is expected to be 1-2 hrs per week on average, with the understanding that based on the student’s core rotations as well as the stage of the project, the availability and commitment might vary over time.
