Senior Project in Interior Design

The goal of this course is to provide an opportunity for the student to fully develop and present an interior design project, which incorporates and demonstrates an ability to coherently synthesize information from the preliminary research phase through design development phases, into a creative and disciplined final presentation. The student will prove the ability to utilize and organize all the aspects of design in the solution of a problem, and to express them in a complete presentation. Developing the design component of their chosen topic from their previous semester’s research, students will be asked to demonstrate an application of appropriate design strategies, theories, and problem-solving skills, to develop the objectives of their particular program into tangible forms, through several physical and digital means of representation and communication. A necessary requirement for credit in this course is a specified number of hours in externship to a professional interior design studio.
