Irene Young, Ed.D., was appointed campus dean and executive director of New York Tech-Vancouver in 2016. During this time, New York Tech-Vancouver added a satellite campus at Broadway Tech Centre to accommodate the rapid growth in student enrollment. Dean Young earned her Doctor of Education degree in 2019 from Simon Fraser University. She obtained a Master's in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia in 1991 and has been a chartered professional accountant (CMA) for over 30 years.
Young has been an educator for 25 years working in various administrative capacities in both the K–12 system and the post-secondary system. She started her career in education in Manitoba working in an administrative capacity for Manitoba Student Aid and later moved to Vancouver. In 2003, she joined the North Vancouver School District as secretary treasurer (CFO), where she was responsible for a $130 million operating budget and a $200 million building program. In 2012, she was appointed as the vice president of administration and chief financial officer of Vancouver Community College.
As campus dean, Young oversees all local administrative functions and the delivery of graduate degree programs in Business Administration, Cybersecurity, Energy Management, and Instructional Technology.
