Amy Smith connects students to opportunities, tools, and knowledge to help them succeed in their future careers. As associate director of employer relations in the Office of Career Success and Experiential Education (CSEE) on New York Tech's Long Island and New York City campuses, she builds relationships with employers seeking to hire the university's talented students for full-time, part-time, internship, and volunteer experiences. Amy also provides support to CSEE's career management system, Handshake, ensuring a streamlined experience for students looking to make connections, find and apply to opportunities, or simply explore career possibilities. Since beginning her higher education career in 2013, she has given guest lectures and presentations to both students and colleagues on a variety of topics including personal branding, entrepreneurship, career management resources, workplace technology, and strategic planning.
In addition, Amy serves as director of public relations and communications on the board of directors of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE), a non-profit professional organization that fosters relationships empowering colleges and employers to develop the future workforce. She also serves on the planning board for the Career Services Technology Meeting (CSTM), bringing together career services colleagues to share best practices and innovative uses for workforce technology.
