Carol Brenner received her Ph.D. from Tufts University. She went on to do her postdoctoral training at University of California, San Francisco. She has been doing research in reproductive biology for more than 25 years and has more than 75 peer-reviewed publications. Brenner has directed NIH-supported extramural and intramural research to investigate mitochondrial function during peri-implantation development and in stem cells. She has also been instrumental in grant proposal development for medical schools for 7+ years. Presently, she is senior director of research and publications at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University. She is directing the Population Health and Academic Scholars programs at NYITCOM-Arkansas. The research office is currently engaged in projects to improve the quality of health and healthcare in rural, underserved communities of northeast Arkansas.
