Cheryl A. Hall joined the full-time faculty of New York Tech’s physical therapy program after serving as an adjunct instructor in the areas of pediatrics and massage. She was the Director of Clinical Education from 2008-2018 before being appointed Interim Chair in 2018 and Program Chair in 2020. Before joining New York Tech, Hall was employed at Schneider (Cohen) Children’s Hospital, the Henry Viscardi School, and the Early Childhood Development Program at Schneider Children’s Hospital (now The Brookville Center at Marcus Avenue).
Hall is an APTA American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties board-certified pediatric clinical specialist. She received a B.A. from SUNY Stony Brook, a B.S. in physical therapy from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, an M.B.A. from New York Tech and a doctorate in health sciences from Nova Southeastern University. Hall has been published in the Pediatric Physical Therapy Journal, Journal of Physical Therapy Education, and the Journal of Research in Sports Medicine. Her research areas of interest are: pediatric wellness, , and health related quality of life in children with chronic illness and their families. Hall is also an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Credentialed Clinical Instructor.
After completing an APTA-provided course on Item-writing in 2013, Hall became an examination item writer for the ABPTS Pediatric Specialty Examination through the Specialty Academy of Content Experts (SACE). In addition, she is a manuscript reviewer for Pediatric Physical Therapy, the official journal on pediatrics of the American Physical Therapy Association. She continues in active clinical practice as an evaluator and provider of early intervention services for infants and children. Hall serves as a consultant at Children’s Speech and Rehabilitation Therapists in Jericho, N.Y.
