Dan Quigley joined New York Tech as an associate professor in 1988 and became associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) in 2004. He was appointed dean in 2018 after serving a year as the college's interim dean. During his time at New York Tech, Quigley has been involved in the development of the core curriculum and other academic programs; coordinated CAS courses at New York Tech’s global campuses; worked on faculty development, learning outcomes assessment initiatives, technology implementation, and teaching effectiveness tools; and helped to produce faculty lecture series, summer institutes, and the annual SOURCE conference.
Quigley has been actively involved in long-range planning initiatives for New York Tech. As part of this effort, he served as chair of the Teaching Quality through Technology sub-committee and authored its final report. He also participated as a member of the original 2030 Steering Committee, the 2030 Implementation Committee, and the 2030 2.0 committee. He has served in the Academic Senate as recording secretary, vice president, and president.
Quigley received a Ph.D. in Renaissance Drama and an M.A. in Literature from the University of Notre Dame. His current research interests are in teaching with technology and online education, and he presents at national conferences on these issues.
