Elaine Della Vecchia is a Certified Nursed Educator with over 30 years of clinical practice experience. Her areas of expertise include medical/surgical, critical care, transcultural, leadership nursing, and medical simulation. She has a certification in critical care nursing, advanced cardiac life support, and is basic cardiac life support instructor. Della Vecchia holds a PhD in Education with a specialization in the development, teaching, and administration of distance education programs, and has developed several online courses/programs. Prior to her academic career, she held a variety of positions in clinical practice including clinical nurse specialists, nurse educator, nurse manager, and Assistant Director of Nursing Education. She is a member of the National League of Nursing, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is volunteers with several organizations including the Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation for the prevention of sudden death, and recently has become a one-on-one mentor for the Psoriatic Arthritis Foundation. She is also an active member of the Nassau County Medical Reserves Core. Della Vecchia has presented at both local and national conferences.
