Frank Lee is an associate professor of computer science. He specializes in big data research and has developed successful undergraduate and graduate courses to teach students to manage and analyze information in real-world systems. He is highly experienced in multiple topics, having taught courses in operating systems, compilers, algorithms, data structures, database systems, and artificial intelligence. As an adviser, Lee has mentored student projects spanning different areas, including natural language processing, big data, cybersecurity, and networks.
Lee is the chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and Department of Information Technology at New York Tech's Long Island. Over the past decade of leadership, he has been deeply involved in the expansion of both departments' research and teaching missions, recruiting world-renowned researchers who are also passionate about mentoring students. He has worked closely with technology companies, both well-known and based in Long Island, to create co-op and internship programs for students to gain knowledge beyond the classroom. Lee also is chairperson of the Personnel Committee, working with faculty in reaching their academic goals.
