Gail Sachs is a seasoned supervisor, educator, administrator and artist. She received her Professional Diploma in Administration & Supervision from a joint program between Bank Street College of Education and Parsons School of Design. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and from Adelphi University with a Master of Education.
From 2006-2009, Sachs was an adjunct professor at the College of New Rochelle. She started her career in 1967 as a junior high school art teacher in the Jericho School District and then as an art teacher at Amityville Memorial High School. During her 29-year tenure in the Amityville School District, she assumed many roles. In 1985, she became the Director of Public Information and in 1989, administrative assistant to the Superintendent. In 1998, she was appointed principal of the Amityville Alternative High School and principal of Elementary Summer School. From 1999 to 2005, she worked in the West Hempstead School District as K-12 Director of Related Arts.
