Jaclyn Cotgreave is certified as a physician assistant (PA) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She earned her Ph.D. in Leadership from University of the Cumberlands, master of science in physician assistant studies from Pace University, bachelor of science in Physician Assistant Studies from New York Tech, and bachelor of science in biology from Eckerd College.
With 18 years in clinical practice, Cotgreave continues her clinical practice at Stony Brook University Medical Center on Long Island in the field of cardiac electrophysiology. She received the designation of Certified Cardiac Device Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners in 2008. She has served on an Allied Health Council for Cardiac Devices and participates in cardiac device research projects.
Cotgreave joined NYIT School of Health Professions as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies in 2017. In 2019, she joined the department as an assistant professor. Her academic interests include anatomy, physiology, cardiology, EKG training, research and point-of-care ultrasonography. She has presented at local, state and national continuing education conferences. She has been on the ultrasound faculty team supporting students at national ultrasound competitions. She has presented at state continuing education conferences on cardiac device management and point-of-care ultrasound.
Besides her teaching endeavors, she serves on the NYIT Academic Senate, She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the New York Society of Physician Assistants, the Physician Assistant Education Association and the American Physiological Society.
Cotgreave is married with two beautiful children. In her spare time, she enjoys her Pelotons, cooking, supporting her children's extracurricular activities, and traveling.
