As managing architect for the Office of Design at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), Steven Lovci is responsible for overseeing architectural services on capital projects for NYCHA’s 328 developments, made up of 2,550 buildings that consist of 178,000 apartments. The average yearly construction budget for capital projects is approximately $700 million.
Prior to his appointment at NYCHA, Lovci was an associate with the prestigious historical architecture and planning firm Beyer Blinder Belle for more than a decade.
He served as a speaker and moderator for the Commercial, Real Estate, and Development panel at the 6th and 7th Annual Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Conferences, served as a researcher for the symposium, ‘Between Expediency and Deliberation: Seeking Middle Ground for Post 9/11,’ and was a contributor to “Rebuild Downtown, Out Town (RDoT)” White paper Report 9/11.
Lovci is a licensed architect in New York State and registered architect in the State of Israel. He has a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and a Bachelor of Architecture from The City University of New York, City College.
