Joseph Seidel, Ph.D., P.E., received a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Brigham Young University in 2003 and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2005. He then worked as a civil engineer at ESA Engineers, Surveyors, & Associates. During this time, he was able to earn his professional engineering license and take the lead on various projects, including hospital additions, a college ice arena, corporate offices, restaurants, planned subdivisions, etc. After working in industry, Joseph returned to school and earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, exploring the use of renewables (i.e. soybean oil) in pavement systems. Before joining the faculty at New York Tech, he was an assistant teaching professor at Penn State.
