Joy Skaug, M.D., is a board-certified Family Medicine physician. She attended medical school at the University of Arkansas and completed her residency in Family Medicine at UAMS Northeast in Jonesboro, Arkansas in 2016. Dr. Skaug worked full-time as an outpatient family physician in Jonesboro prior to joining NYITCOM's clinical medicine department in 2018. Currently a faculty member of the osteopathic manipulative medicine department, she also serves as the third-year clinical course coordinator for the Arkansas campus and faculty advisor for the Emergency Medicine Registered Student Organization.
Dr. Skaug, along with fellow NYITCOM-Arkansas faculty member Troy Camarata, Ph.D., is involved with research focused on air quality in Northeast Arkansas, which examines the medical impact of field burning.
