Matthew Chang specializes in optics and condensed matter physics. His research work done in the past focused on the optical and electrical properties of semiconductors like silicon and Gas materials.
He has been a member of the physics faculty at New York Tech since 1973. He has served as student advisors for honor societies such as Sigma Pi Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi an is a member of the Academic Chang has won the best professor of the year award for several years and was also chosen for the Presidential Outstanding Achievement Award in Teaching. He is currently serving as the Chair of Physics.
He received his Ph.D. in physics at the University of Massachusetts.
