Matthew Masciandaro joined the full-time faculty of New York Institute of Technology's Physical Therapy Department in 2024 after teaching for more than 10 years as an adjunct professor. He has taught at the graduate, undergraduate, and high school levels and instructed in Human Gross Anatomy, Foundations of Physical Fitness, Aerobic Conditioning, Functional Anatomy, and Data Literacy. Masciandaro has also worked in outpatient orthopedics for more than 10 years and has experience treating a wide variety of conditions and surgical diagnoses for patients ranging from weekend warriors to elite athletes.

Masciandaro graduated from New York Tech's B.S./D.P.T. program in 2014. He is also an NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator. Adding to his schooling and certifications, he has taken numerous continuing education courses involving orthopedics, strength training and conditioning, and manual therapy. In the classroom, Masciandaro aims to create an environment where students want to engage with and learn the material in a way that adds value to their education and professional career.
