Michael J. Terzella graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at New York Institute of Technology in 1999. While attending , he engaged in a one-year Undergraduate Teaching Fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He completed a residency in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, West Islip NY, in 2002. From 2002–2008, Terzella worked as a family physician at the Martin Luther King Jr. Health Center where he treated patients and trained family practice residents and medical students through the health center’s affiliation with Good Samaritan Hospital.

In 2005 Terzella earned his board certification in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. In 2008, he joined the clinical faculty at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He has been published in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association and American Academy of Osteopathy Journal.
