Dr. Eng is a 1989 graduate of New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He completed a Family Practice residency at Peninsula Hospital Center in 1992. He is board certified in Family Practice and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners. Dr. Eng was the chairman of Family Practice and the program director of the Family Practice residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York for over 20 years. He served as the associate medical director of Partners in Health, a Medicaid managed care plan based in the Bronx that served 23,000 patients from 2004 to 2006. He joined Union Community Health Center in 2007 as the chief medical officer where he oversaw the quality assurance and performance improvement plans of this federally qualified health center and acted as a liaison to the board of directors on the ongoing activities of the medical staff. He also worked as a primary care physician in the Bronx for 27 years before joining New York Institute of Technology.

Dr. Eng maintains an interest in "Advanced Primary Care" models and medical education and has championed several practice transformations in the inner city.

Recent Projects and Research

National roundtable to share best practices in reintegrating primary care physicians in HIV care. This was sponsored by the AIDS Education and Training Centers National Center for HIV Care in Minority Communities. Collaborator on peer-to-peer mentoring in diabetes: web based training module for peer mentors sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the National Institute on Minority Health and Disparities (NIMHD). Improving Depression screening utilizing PHQ9 questionnaires with mobile technology.
