Nicole Wadsworth, D.O., is a dynamic innovator in medical education. She has an extensive career history of leadership roles in clinical and academic medicine, as well as executive administration. Wadsworth currently serves as dean of New York Institute of Technology's College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) and interim dean for New York Tech's School of Health Professions. Previously, she served as NYITCOM site dean and senior associate dean. Board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, Wadsworth is also a professor of emergency medicine at the university.

A 1997 graduate of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed her training in emergency medicine at South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio, serving as chief resident in 2001. She also held numerous clinical appointments in the southeastern region of Ohio, including chief of staff and medical director.

Before joining New York Tech's leadership team in 2018, Wadsworth was associate dean of academic affairs at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her 17-year tenure, she served in various faculty and administrative roles and was the administrative principal of the "Pathways to Health and Wellness Curriculum," where she successfully led faculty teams in review and revision of the medical school's curriculum.

Wadsworth is also a noteworthy national speaker who has addressed an array of topics through her presentations, including: Providing Optimal Medical Care for Transgender and LGBTQ Patients, Building Multicultural Training Opportunities in Existing Educational Modalities, Integrating Multicultural Medicine into Medical Schools, Preparation of a COM "Self Study" Process for On-Site COCA Accreditation Visits, and Breaking Barriers – Careers in Medicine.

Among her many accomplishments and honors, Wadsworth is a recipient of the 2023 Excellence in Healthcare Award from Herald Community Newspapers, the 2017 Trillium Award, the 2008 Year One Outstanding Clinical Science Faculty Award, and the Outstanding Mentor and Recognition Award from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is also a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians.

Wadsworth serves on numerous professional organizations including the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) Nominating Committee, AACOM Ethics Committee, AACOM Transition to Residencies Committee, and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Foundational Competencies Committee. She is also a National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) CDM Case Writer and Primary Reviewer, and has previously served as a member of the AACOM Ethics and Professionalism Task Force, and the NBOME Committee on Standardization of the COMLEX Exam.

Wadsworth's educational interests include curriculum development, board preparation—with a focus on assisting medical students struggling with academic success, interprofessional education, and simulation in medical education.
