Area(s) of Expertise: Architecture, Literature

Nathan Minett specializes in architectural design and theory as it applies to the built environment. His research focuses on the potential application of literature to architecture, believing that "if literature is all possible formations of words in a sentence, paragraph, or story, then architecture is all possible formations of material and program in space.” If this holds true then just as much can be learned from the organizational principles found in literature as the ordering principles of architecture.

He has assisted in the research and publication of New Kenzo Tange AND THE Metabolist Movement by Zhongjie Lin. In addition to representing his undergraduate university abroad and holding positions within the university while attending, Minett also played a critical role in the creation of the Historic District of Wilmore in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2009 while at university.

Currently, he is a project architect at Operative Performance Architecture in DUMBO, and has played critical roles in both research and competition work done by the firm in recent years while managing new projects.

Minett obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s School of Architecture, and his Masters of Architecture from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2012.
