He brings over 30 years of professional experience across a broad spectrum of project types, including wood-frame houses, precast concrete office buildings, healthcare and educational facilities, community centers, design competitions, and museum renovations—including work on The Museum of Modern Art, hands-on construction and solar housing models and detoxification plants.
Since 2005, Cody has taught at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), where he has served as Professor of Practice since 2019. He is currently the Director of the Master of Architecture program. His teaching spans comprehensive and community design studios, building technology, and architectural theory. He has taught and coordinated studios at all curricular levels, led study abroad programs in Scandinavia, and co-directed NYIT's Summer Program in Italy from 2013 to 2019.
Cody has held several leadership roles at NYIT, including Chair (2011–2017), Associate Dean (2017), and Director of Undergraduate Programs (2018). Since 2012, he has also served as NCARB AXP Licensing Advisor and AIAS Faculty Advisor. He sits on the NCARB ARE 5.0 Committee, the NYC Town and Gown Executive Committee, and directs NYIT’s NCARB IPAL (Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure) initiative.
