Sinan Caykoylu currently serves as the associate dean of the M.B.A. program at New York Tech's Vancouver campus. He received his master's and doctorate degrees from the Beedie School of Management at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at numerous AACSB-accredited institutions and continues to conduct academic research and serve the academic community through various committee memberships.
Caykoylu joined New York Tech in 2009 as an adjunct faculty and has served in various roles and committees since then. Previously, as assistant dean, he was involved with institutional initiatives including the School of Management’s AASCB accreditation, transitioning from the cycle system to the semester system, revitalizing the finance concentration, and initiating closer cooperation with other New York Tech campuses.
His teaching philosophy is to make classes interesting by including learning methods and technologies that are current in today’s business world. He engenders collaborative learning with extensive group work including online discussions, group presentations, and in-class experiential exercises. He actively uses strategy simulations, cases, and field research assignments.
