Sheri E. Kelleher joined New York Institute of Technology in 2004. While working in the Office of Academic Affairs, she designed and piloted a New Faculty Mentoring Program and the Mentors Institute with the Center for Teaching and Learning; coordinated faculty hires, onboarding, and personnel actions; and managed faculty events, networking sessions, and accreditation visits. She then went onto serve as the founding assistant dean of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Education for the 2016–2017 academic year, where she established advisory board members, operating and budget processes and procedures, and identified non-tuition revenue sources.
In August 2017, she was appointed assistant provost of Academic Affairs; in this position, she collaborates to facilitate continuous improvement of policy and procedures between the academic and operational units. Kelleher is responsible for the Graduate Assistantship Program and works with student employment staff to ensure compliance of state and federal regulations as well the overall student employment experience. She has championed the creation of Staff Workshops, online platforms for internal communication and easy access to information, as well as the development of onboarding modules for adjunct faculty. She works closely with the Office of Human Resources to ensure there are inclusion, diversity and professional growth and development opportunities for faculty and staff. Kelleher piloted a LinkedIn Learning program with staff members to enhance skills and improve professional areas of interest, which resulted in an institutional license and memberships for the entire New York Tech community. She works closely with department chairs and deans to enhance productivity and to plan and promote academic events and conferences. She serves on many committees, including the institution's Strategic Planning and Implementation Committee, and is the space resource and allocation liaison for academic units.
Kelleher is an alumna of Hartwick College, holding a bachelor's degree in business, and was a five-time All-American in Track and Field. She was inducted into Hartwick College's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013. She holds a professional certificate in Conferences and Event Management from New York University, a master's degree in communication arts from New York Institute of Technology, and received her Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University.
