Shin-R Lin teaches physics to engineering and life sciences majors. He received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics in 1962 from University of Michigan at Ann Arbor; his master's degree from University of South Carolina, and his bachelor degree from Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. He taught at University of Massachusetts at Amherst and was a research associate (nuclear physics) at Yale University in 1962–1964.
