In addition to his teaching role, Sekhar Amba has been serving as director for department assessment at NYIT School of Management since 2010, coordinating and operationalizing all assessment activities for programs and courses, and linking these assessments to the programmatic, major-specific learning, and course-level learning goals and reports. He integrates Bloomberg, a real-time financial database, in his finance courses.
Amba’s main research areas are corporate finance and governance, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and stock market efficiency. His articles have been published in international peer-reviewed journals. He won outstanding research awards for his paper “Impact of Gender Diversity in Boards & Executives on Firms Governance and Financial performance: Empirical Evidence from Canadian Market,” presented in the global conference on business and finance hosted by The Institute for Business and Financial Research. He also contributed to the academic community as a reviewer of corporate governance for The International Journal of Business in Society.
