As a career public educator, Tom Troisi has held numerous administrative positions in Long Island schools, including department chairperson, assistant high school principal, and high school principal. Additionally, for the past 11 years, Troisi has served as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in the Valley Stream Central School District.
In addition to his teaching and administrative roles, Troisi is a prolific writer. His articles concerning school leadership, goal-oriented schools, and instructional technology have appeared in professional journals such as Teachers College Record and The School Administrator. He has also presented on topics such as comparative educational systems and school building/district leadership for organizations such as the New York State Council of School Superintendents, the New York State School Boards Association, and the Department of Latin American Studies at New York University.
Troisi’s research and teaching interests are varied and include the sociology of education, critical theory, and policy studies. He holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Temple University, an M.S. in Secondary Education from Queens College of CUNY, and an Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Policy Studies from Hofstra University.
