Umapathy Ananthanarayanan specializes in auditing, financial reporting, and corporate governance. His research mainly focuses on factors that determine audit fees determination. In addition, he also engages in international studies on executive compensation, financial reporting, and corporate governance.
Being a member of the American Accounting Association, Ananthanarayanan actively participates in its Northeastern meetings as a reviewer and a dialogue facilitator. He has been a certified public accountant (Australia) since 2013.
Ananthanarayanan received his Ph.D. in Accounting from the Massey University, Master of Business from AUT University (Auckland), and Master of Commerce and Bachelor of Commerce from Madras University. Committed to shaping young minds, his teaching career started in 1979. He has served in various capacities at educational institutions in India, Sultanate of Oman, and New Zealand.
