Uma Iyer received her Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington, under the guidance of Professor Valery Lunts.
Iyer's research interests include non-commutative algebra and quantum groups. She has worked in several university departments over the years, most recently as a professor at Bronx Community College and as a graduate faculty member at Graduate Center CUNY.
