March 3, 2021
NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences has partnered with Zscaler, a leader in cloud security, to allow students and alumni to gain real-world skills in the field of cybersecurity, specifically with secure access service edge (SASE) and zero trust best practices through courses that teach Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) powered by the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange.
Students and alumni can sign up free of charge and will receive training materials to prepare for certification for Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA). Undergraduate students majoring in computer science or information technology, who complete and pass the Zscaler Certification exams, may also be eligible to receive three assessment credits toward their degree.
“This partnership further illustrates that by pursuing a degree at New York Tech, students will graduate career-ready and receive excellent returns on their investment,” said New York Tech President Hank Foley, Ph.D.
Along with benefitting students financially, these certifications increase students’ competitiveness in the current job market. As workforces shift to remote environments more rapidly than ever, there is an increased need for skilled cybersecurity professionals. The forward-looking curriculum at New York Tech combined with the opportunity for industry-recognized certifications, including ZIA and ZPA, sets students up with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to be successful in the field of cybersecurity, along with giving them a competitive edge.
“Preparing our students by providing them a career-oriented and deep technical education has always been our focus. This partnership with Zscaler equips our students with highly in-demand skillsets in cybersecurity while integrating these skillset acquisitions in their curriculum,” said Babak Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences.
Students will learn how to:
- Setup, configure, and administer an organization’s Zscaler Internet Access Deployment and Private Access Deployment
- Maintain Traffic Forwarding and Authentication for a Zscaler Internet Access Deployment
- Secure and ensure Best Practices on a Zscaler Private Access Deployment
