Introduction to Blockchain Technology

Since the introduction and subsequent rise of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin over the past decade, an interest in blockchain technology applications for various industry sectors has also arisen. This seminar will introduce participants to the background and history of blockchain technology, the discussion of both private and public blockchain solutions, the creation of smart contracts, and the various considerations an organization must make during a blockchain implementation. Participants will be exposed to the key components and processes of a blockchain system and the various commercial providers that support blockchain endeavors.
About iNTEREST
New York Tech's ETIC Remote Engagement Sessions in Technology (iNTEREST) is an online lecture series designed to introduce students to proprietary technologies in use in industry today and expose them to related career opportunities and pathways. Students are provided with a background summary, a demonstration of the technology, instruction on how it can be acquired, and tips on how to quickly gain hands-on experience.
