“An existing bridge is spray-painted red and the act turns reality into a rather surreal scenery. A kind of foundation for an alternate reality (or a future) is born. The nightly traffic jam is enjoyed by a clubber’s gaze. Harboring far above the bridge, the aggregation of rear red lights becomes the dance of a strange-eyed animal.
A blade runner-like billboard hovers over the glass skin of the viewing nightclub bar, a door opens and leads to a bridge-like walkway to nowhere. Alas! A depressed, tormented, and ecstatic soul will probably leap from the end of the walkway. Somebody has really fallen from the hovering bridge.
News flashes minutes to the hour, and the next day there is a long procession of mourners gathering at the crematorium under the bridge. The ashes are thrown into the river, a distant practice of innate memories of an imported and domesticated religion of Buddhism...”
Design Dialogues
In times of global crises, education, collaboration, and dialogs can represent positive “game changing” factors.
Through dialogue with international universities, industries, and practicing designers, the NYIT School of Architecture and Design Lecture Series will nurture dialogue on the education of the creatives of the future and will challenge the more conventional university curricula, and the narratives and communication strategies of the current professional practice.
