New York Tech Energy Conference: Energy Careers and Professional Societies

For the last ten years, Bayramoglu has led numerous ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits, retro-commissioning studies, and written reports for NYSERDA, PSEG, LL87, and LL97 analysis and roadmaps aiming at electrification and decarbonization by collaborative efforts of engineers. He has performed a series of functional and performance tests for both RCx as well as audit analyses to identify possible avenues of energy efficiency improvements. He has presented findings to clients by pointing out the most critical measures and sequencing the implementation process of each project.

Bayramoglu has been a board member of ASHRAE's Long Island Chapter since 2016 and currently maintains the chapter's presidency for the 2022-2023 season. He is an NYC-DOB registered Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). He is also LEED Green Associate accredited by the USGBC and MFBA by BPI.

Gruber and his company have had the opportunity to work on multiple leading-edge projects which have helped start the build-out of the “smart grid.” Gruber has expertise in measurement and verification, project management, business development, and leadership.

As the current president of the New York Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers, Gruber is committed to expanding the knowledge base of the professional energy community in the New York metro area. He has previously served as secretary and vice president, and he has been a part of the chapter’s growth and continued success.

Gruber has a B.S. in biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He currently lives in New Jersey with his wife, Brenda Amarant, and enjoys the outdoors. Gruber is a multiple Ironman Triathalon finisher and a multiple Boston Marathon qualifier.

She chairs the Drive Electric Long Island Coalition, a regional board that works to increase the adoption of electric vehicles (EV) and infrastructure. As chair, Issapour has steered a wide-ranging coalition that includes academics, environmental advocates, utilities, auto dealers, and EV infrastructure manufacturers in a region that has the highest EV adoption rate in New York State.

She is also on the Board of the United States Green Building Council of Long Island, which meets quarterly and is focused on encouraging and facilitating sustainable practices on Long Island through education, outreach, and advocacy. She serves on NYSERDA's Offshore Wind Jobs and Supply Chain Technical Working Group, where her expertise in workforce training development helps the organization meet the needs of all of the state. She is also the vice chair of IEEE-PES on Long Island.

Nationally, she serves on the American Clean Power Micro-Credentials and Standards Committee, Offshore Wind Wildlife & Permitting, Workforce Development Subcommittee since 2017.

Regionally, she is respected as a clean energy professional, and she has connected with, encouraged, and mentored younger women in the field. From creating a suite of cutting-edge wind training programs to certifying the solar installers in this large region to chairing the Drive Electric Long Island Coalition to expand EV adoption, Issapour has made a difference.

Pego first heard of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) from his facilities design instructor while still at Maritime, and became a student member. He rejoined the organization when he became a facilities manager, and has since been passionate about promoting the profession, particularly with students, earning him the IFMA Distinguished Chapter Volunteer: End User Member award in 2020. Pego has been the chair of the Student Engagement Committee since 2020 and has increased membership and awareness of the organization throughout New York's undergraduate and graduate student population.

Pego holds a master's degree in energy management from New York Institute of Technology, as well as the Facility Management Professional, Sustainability Facility Professional, and Certified Facility Management credentials, earned through coursework and experience through IFMA.

Peras is also a part-time instructor for the CUNY School of Professional Studies, where he teaches energy efficiency modules for the Building Operator Certification program. Robert holds a B.S. in computer and electric engineering and a M.S. in energy management from New York Institute of Technology.

Sannuto served in the U.S. Navy as a quality assurance crew chief and was awarded Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, the National Defense Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal. He earned a B.A. in business administration and management at Dowling College and an M.S. in energy management at New York Institute of Technology.
