FRIENDS Reimagined Virtual Event
December 3, 2020
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Join our dean, faculty, students, and prominent alumni, who engage in meaningful discussions about how the current environment and new challenges have provided them with opportunities to be innovative, adaptive leaders and what our new normal means for the future. Learn how New York Institute of Technology is guiding the next generation of leaders—the doers, makers, and innovators who will reinvent a more sustainable future.
Sponsorship dollars will support the FRIENDS mission of promoting a working relationship between the architecture, construction, and interior design professions and NYIT School of Architecture & Design through the funding of student scholarships and academic support.
If you are interested in sponsoring this year’s event and providing your support to current and future New York Tech students or if you have any questions, please contact Carmen Marmo-Savinetti at 516.805.5074 or cmarmosa@nyit.edu.

Maria R. Perbellini
Dean, School of Architecture and Design
Maria R. Perbellini earned her Master of Architecture degree from the Pratt Institute. She also holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia in Italy.
Read MorePrior to joining New York Institute of Technology, she served as associate dean for graduate programs in the College of Architecture at Texas Tech University (TTU), where she developed a Master of Architecture curriculum with four graduate certificates as well as a post-professional Master of Science in Architecture program with specializations in digital design and fabrication, urban and community design, and design and health. She also coordinated the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Land-Use Planning, Management, and Design.

The formation of the FRIENDS Group over a decade ago was the brainchild of a few truly thoughtful and dedicated New York Tech alumni of the Architectural Department.
Read MoreWe formed this group, first as a representation that our opportunities to be successful were jettisoned by our experiences at New York Tech and that we had an opportunity now to share that success and broaden the lives of the students in the Architectural and Interior Design Departments. We wanted to be a force in the development of the departments and in the future careers of those who would join us in our profession. To do so, we had to forge our own path and then find the venues that would allow this momentum to be inserted. Giving life and subsistence to lectures, scholarships, capital improvements, and department improvements became the cornerstone of the FRIENDS gifts. Our continued support of student activities and educational trips has further enhanced the New York Tech experience.
I am grateful to be a part of such a wonderful and caring group that continues to see the future of NYIT Architectural and Interior Design students' success as our goal to further enhance our chosen professions as we all mold the face of the earth with our efforts together!
Thank you to the FRIENDS Group!
