Introduction to Database Searching

Learn simple and effective database search techniques. This workshop introduces you to transferable skills that can be used to find books or articles in any database. This workshop covers:

• Interdisciplinary databases such as Proquest database and Academic Search Complete (By EbscoHost)
• Topic development and refining research questions for best results
• Basic database search techniques: keyword searching, Boolean operators
• Searching the New York Tech Library’s online catalog of holdings on-campus or through the inter-library service
