New Student Welcome: New York City Campus

Our New Student Welcome is a required event for all new incoming students enrolled at our NYIT-New York City campus.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. Following welcome remarks from President Hank Foley and Provost Junius Gonzales, students will participate in large group presentations with their deans and faculty. Students will finish the day with group activities and lunch.

Please note: There are no programs for parents and guests—this event is solely for new students. Contact orientationnyc@nyit.edu if you need assistance or accommodations.

  • College of Arts and Sciences (Communication Arts and Behavioral Sciences): 16 W. 61st St., 8th Floor
  • College of Arts and Sciences (All other programs): 16 W. 61st St., 7th Floor
  • College of Engineering and Computing Sciences: NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, 1871 Broadway
  • School of Architecture and Design: 16 W. 61st St., 11th Floor Auditorium
  • School of Management: 16 W. 61st St., 6th Floor

Student Registration and Check-in
New students will go to designated locations to register, based on school/program.

9:30 – 10 a.m.

Presidential Welcome Remarks
President Hank Foley to share welcome remarks and vision for NYIT.

10 – 10:15 a.m.

Remarks from Provost
Provost to discuss his role and the student experience at NYIT.

10:35 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

School Presentations
Presentations and discussions led by the deans and faculty about academic requirements, research projects, and tips for success.

12:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Lunch and Group Activities
Lunch and activities at various locations.
