University Governance of IT

University governance for IT project support is the process by which New York Tech engages its diverse stakeholders to establish and communicate priorities for technology and system investments, guide service level management, and approve policies that support and are aligned with institutional goals and priorities. The governance structure at New York Tech consists of an overarching Facilities, Leases, IT and Equipment (FLITE) Council and several other advisory committees, including advisory committees that are governed by New York Tech’s Academic Senate. These committees have varying responsibilities and are essentially charged with identifying, prioritizing, and recommending tactical and strategic IT-related initiatives that propel the University forward in a deliberate and thoughtful manner. These committees also serve as communication conduits with the New York Tech community to promote transparency, accountability and effective dialogue about technology and its adoption at New York Tech.
