Giovanni Santamaria

Giovanni Santamaria has been teaching continuously at New York Tech’s School of Architecture and Design since 2008. He has served as a member of the Fulbright Scholarship Program's National Screening Committee and taken numerous groups of students on summer study abroad trips, but he is most satisfied when he sees his students growing and learning.

A. Martin Gerdes

As a young researcher studying heart disease, A. Martin Gerdes, Ph.D., was frustrated by the lack of understanding in his field about how heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases impacted the structure of the heart at the cellular and molecular level. He dedicated his career to studying heart disease and he has been honored for his contributions with two highly esteemed honors.

Rana ElKassem

Rana ElKassem has a rare perspective of NYIT. She first became acquainted with NYIT-Abu Dhabi as a graduate student in 2015. Now she is an alumna and works full-time as the associate director of Employer and Alumni Relations.

Jeffrey Raven

Architecture is a family tradition for Jeffrey Raven, NYIT's director of the graduate program in Urban and Regional Design. He has more than 20 years of experience, including running his namesake firm, RAVEN A+U. Longer still is an appreciation for architecture gleaned from living in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Paolo Gasti

His research focuses on privacy-preserving genomic computation. In other words, as advanced DNA sequencing technologies revolutionize the medical field and bring the possibility of digitized genomes closer to reality, Gasti is interested in how engineers will address the privacy concerns of individuals who may one day have access to obtaining and storing their DNA sequences online.
