Student Profile: Daniel Wright

Daniel Wright followed several career paths before a life-changing experience inspired him to pursue medicine. A graduate of NYITCOM-Arkansas’s Master’s in Biomedical Sciences program, the 52-year-old is now studying to be a physician and plans to practice in the underserved region of the Mississippi Delta.

Nic Luna hopes to become a visual effects artist, working in both film and television. They’re well on their way, having worked on short films and 3-D animations. Now, they’re documenting their classmates building prototypes for NASA.

It was Vasishth Rajcoomar’s dream to live in New York. And after getting his undergraduate degree in chemical and renewable energy, the Fulbright Scholar chose to continue his studies at New York Tech’s Long Island campus, where he is pursuing a master’s in energy management.

Student Profile: Ying Shi Zhang

Ying Shi Zhang always loved the design process. As a student majoring in industrial design at a STEM-focused high school, she was more familiar with traditional art rather than digital. When she learned about New York Tech’s digital arts program, she was inspired to venture down a new path and now is documenting how her classmates in the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences are building prototypes for NASA.

Faculty Profile: Jennifer Yanhua Xie

Jennifer Yanhua Xie, Ph.D., secured NYITCOM-Arkansas’s first NIH grant in 2020. Now, she will play a key role in a new study aimed at developing treatments for inflammatory bowel disease—the first NIH-funded research collaboration between NYITCOM-Arkansas and A-State.

As a child, Robert Maksimowicz began building electronics as a hobby. As a New York Tech student, he’s building real-world products for clients such as NASA in the ETIC.

Alumni Profile: Eze Small

Everything started on the track for Eze Small. After a setback, he shifted his focus to engineering. He is now president and chief operating officer of Elite Construction of NY, where he continues to use the lessons he learned at New York Tech.
