Student Profile: Faiz Syed

Through the Engineering in Medicine initiative, NYITCOM student Faiz Syed was able to conduct research on orthostatic hypotension with fellow students in the medical school and the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences. Their findings were the first outcome of the initiative to be published.

Having worked in the public and private sectors, Assistant Professor Bisrat Kinfemichael, Ph.D., found he was drawn to academic life. In 2016, he joined New York Tech and helped develop the master’s program in risk management.

Noelle Batista says she puts 120 percent into everything she does. As an NYITCOM student, she excels in the classroom as an Academic Medicine Scholar, participating in real-world research as well as outside, guiding pre-med students as the mentorship coordinator for the Pre-Student Osteopathic Medical Association.

Sibel Sezen (B.P.S. ’21) believes the possible uses for data analysis are limitless and is excited by the potential it has to help people. After receiving a bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies, she is continuing her education at New York Tech, pursuing a master's degree in data science.
