New York Tech Launches Risk Management, M.S.

July 26, 2021

New York Tech’s newest degree program, the Master of Science in Risk Management will provide companies with the highly trained talent and expertise needed to navigate the ever-changing business environment.

Risk management professionals use their specialized knowledge to identify and mitigate possible threats to business operations and their bottom lines. From the dot-com crash to the COVID-19 pandemic economy, the events of the past 20 years have underscored why, more than ever, 21st-century businesses need the insight and acumen of these qualified experts to address future challenges.

The new program, offered by New York Tech’s AACSB-accredited School of Management, will equip graduates with the necessary skills to help enterprises withstand unpredictable—and sometimes volatile—local and global business climates. Offered at both the Long Island and New York City campuses, with evening, weekend, and online classes available, the program is equally suited for working and aspiring business professionals, who will benefit from small classes taught by practicing professionals with strong industry connections.

With an emphasis on technology and digital solutions for enterprise risk management, the curriculum goes beyond the traditionally covered areas of cybersecurity, financial risk, and insurance. Students will be trained in risk management areas such as business continuity management, product and market development, human capital, and legal and regulatory matters. In turn, graduates will be prepared to pursue a variety of jobs, including positions as a financial advisor, risk analyst, employee risk manager, cybersecurity expert, and many others.

Applications for the Risk Management, M.S. program are now being accepted for the spring 2022 semester.

This new degree program is the most recent of several new degree programs New York Tech has launched to prepare students to address current and future real-world challenges, including a Ph.D. in Engineering, M.B.A. in Business Analytics, and Master’s in Public Health (M.P.H.).
