New York Institute of Technology will host three East Coast Conference (ECC) championship events beginning with the cross country championship meet on October 26. The Bears last hosted the ECC’s marquee event in 2017, when then-freshman Noah Simatei secured the league’s Rookie of the Year honor with a second-place finish.
The Overwatch eSports championship will take place November 9 on the Long Island campus. This is the first Overwatch championship sponsored by the ECC since the league was established in 2018. The Bears hosted—and won—the conference’s inaugural League of Legends title in March 2019.
Beginning on May 7, New York Tech will host the three-day, double-elimination baseball playoff tournament for the second year in a row. The Bears had their most successful season since 1983 during the 2018-2019 season making it to the College World Series for the first time in the program’s history.
