News Byte: NYITCOM Hosts Cardiovascular Researchers and Scholars at First Annual Retreat

On June 14, 150 cardiovascular and cardiology researchers, scholars, and students attended the First Annual Retreat for the NYC Area Inter-Institutional Cardiovascular Seminar Series at NYIT de Seversky Mansion. The seminar series, co-sponsored and hosted by NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM), featured speakers from Columbia University, New York Presbyterian Hospital; New York University; Columbia University Irving Medical Center; Weill Cornell Medical College; Albert Einstein College of Medicine; and University of Pennsylvania.

The retreat was co-organized by Martin Gerdes, Ph.D., professor and chair of Biomedical Sciences at NYITCOM. In addition to the speakers, medical, osteopathic medicine, as well as Ph.D. and postdoctoral students from NYITCOM and the metropolitan area, presented their work at a poster session.
