School of Architecture and Design Alumnus Joins Board of Trustees
May 31, 2022
Domenick Chieco (B.S. ’89), co-chair of the board of directors of Milrose Consultants, has been appointed to New York Tech’s Board of Trustees. He is the latest alumnus to join the university’s governing board, chaired by fellow alumnus Peter Romano (B.Arch. ’76).
Chieco, of Manhasset, N.Y., has served as chairperson of the FRIENDS of the School of Architecture and Design executive committee for more than 15 years. An actively engaged alumnus for many years, he is a founding member of the New York Tech President’s Forum, which recognizes generous multi-year donors to the university. In 2015, Chieco created an endowed scholarship fund in honor of his parents. It was redesignated in 2021 as the Tommaso and Franca Chieco Dean’s Atelier Studio, a program that engages world-renowned architectural professionals with high-achieving School of Architecture and Design students.
“We are thrilled to have Domenick—a strong leader and a maker/doer who personifies the success that can be achieved with a New York Tech education—join our Board of Trustees,” said President Hank Foley, Ph.D.
“There is a movement afoot at New York Tech, one of association and a spirit of heightened excitement among the alumni. Most importantly, there is transparency in President Foley’s vision for growth—namely, the prioritization of the student experience,” Chieco said. “I have accepted the invitation to be a trustee with humility and enthusiasm, knowing that New York Tech is well-positioned for great success.”
For more than three decades, Chieco’s firm, Milrose Consultants, has led the field of building code consulting and permit expediting. It provides mission-critical building compliance consulting services to the high-level commercial real estate market through a diverse portfolio of permitting, code and zoning, regulatory filing, and due diligence solutions. Chieco joined the company in 1989, became CEO in 2019, and co-chair of the board in 2021.
