* College student participants must be 18 years or older.
Package Includes:
- One New York Tech academic credit
- A dormitory room in a New York Tech Residence Hall. Bed linens, blanket, pillow, soap, shampoo, and towels are provided. The dormitory will be staffed with residential assistants who will help guide and care for students during their stay.
- A MetroCard with unlimited access to subway and buses.
- An HTH Worldwide Health Insurance card.
- Daily breakfast and signature dining experiences.
- A certificate of completion at the end of the program.

About the Program Director
Robert J. Koenig, Ed.D., director for New York Tech’s Immersion Programs, has established international educational programs and partnerships for New York Tech, as well as through partnerships in Australia, Romania, France, Switzerland, Vancouver, B.C., South Korea, and China. He serves on leading hospitality boards and has published works in peer-reviewed research journals and university textbooks. He has been featured on nationwide television, radio talk shows and cited in The Washington Post; Lodging Magazine; Hotelier; and other publications. He has also presented research papers at conferences domestically and internationally, including speaking engagements at West Point Military Academy, N.Y., for dignitaries of China's Peking University, and other venues.
A professional chef and businessman, Koenig served as chef at the 1985 Inauguration of President Ronald Reagan and Vice President George H. Bush; General Manager/Executive Chef at The Old Original Bookbinders, Philadelphia, Pa.; and Corporate Executive for Tidewater Inn Management, overseeing five food and beverage hotel properties. He has cooked for high-profile individuals including two United States Presidents, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Merv Griffin, Robert Wagner, Ava Gabor, Jesse Jackson, Don Rickles, Tony Randall, Jack Klugman, Donna Summers, and others.
As an Associate Dean at New York Tech, Koenig was on the administrative team that assisted the college in receiving AACSB accreditation. He maintains beehives on the New York Tech campus to educate students on the environmental benefits of beehives, agriculture, and sustainability awareness.
