The federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) status for the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act, has expired. There is no longer a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for new employees and newly registered students, except for the School of Health Professions (nursing and physician assistant studies only) and the College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM). Students at both schools are still required to show proof of vaccination for COVID-19.
