Growing up in Brockport, a small town in upstate New York, Tara Fraser longed for the fast pace of New York City. I was on a choir trip my sophomore year of high school, staying in Times Square, she recalls.

Francis Coiro’s first love was set design. His father, on the other hand, suggested an alternative. He said, ‘You can design something that’s going to be knocked down or something that will stand for life,’ says Coiro, "so I decided to study architecture."

Lana Reimer Vogel

Lana Reimer Vogel recently celebrated her 32nd year at NBC. She joined as an intern while still an undergraduate and was hired shortly thereafter by NBC Radio. There she learned the ins and outs of the industry while market-testing songs for an adult contemporary radio station. One year later, she was working full time at NBC Sports; several years later, she completed her graduate degree at NYIT.

Amal Al Haddabi

Her work certainly requires a heroic effort. Al Haddabi is head of the Publications Department at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), one of the leading think tanks in the Middle East, and is responsible for the center’s numerous books, journals, research papers, and reports that tackle matters of strategic importance to the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), the region, and the world.

I am convinced that shifting to a renewable energy economy will be one of the most important developments in human history. Ending oil dependency and cleaning the air will lead to an unprecedented era of peace and prosperity.
