News Byte: New Partner Offers Students Easy Tools for App Building

March 23, 2022

New York Tech’s College of Engineering and Computing Sciences is partnering with OutSystems, developer of an industry-leading “low-code” app-building tool, to integrate training and resources into its coursework for participants in its Python Programming for Women and Single Parents workshop and, eventually, for all College of Engineering and Computing Sciences students.

Current students and graduates of the college’s first three Python workshop sessions will be introduced to online training by OutSystems, including a 14-day course and developer-led certification bootcamp that also provides job search assistance, free of charge. The easy-to-use cloud-based OutSystems tools for app building, developed for people who have little or no programming background, utilize Python and offer these advantages:

  • AI-powered, visual, model-driven UX approach with hundreds of pre-built components
  • Ability to deliver beautiful, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines-compliant apps on any touchpoint/device
  • Connect to 400+ systems, build your own libraries, or add existing ones

Lisbon, Portugal-based OutSystems has already engaged with 60,000 students and 200 higher education institutions, mostly in Europe. New York Tech is among its first U.S.-based educational partners.

“We are very excited to add OutSystems to our growing list of innovative industry partners that provide added value in terms of training and add-on credentials to our students,” says Babak D. Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, who noted similar partnerships with Red Hat and Zscaler. “The supplemental education and experience our students will gain give them a tremendous edge in the professional world.”
