15th Faculty Scholars Reception Celebrate the scholarly and creative achievements of full-time and adjunct NYIT faculty members on Thursday, March 31, 4 to 6 p.m. at NYIT de Seversky Mansion, Old Westbury campus. Event is open to all faculty and staff members. R.S.V.P. for this event.
Commencement Countdown NYIT Commencement is two months away, but there are things you need to do now to prepare for graduation. Members of the Class of 2016 should follow our to-do list:
- Order Regalia All graduates must wear regalia (cap and gown) at NYIT Commencement. Order your regalia by Thursday, March 31.
- Reserve Tickets Each graduate may receive up to four tickets for the ceremony. Reserve your tickets through Sunday, May 1.
SHE-E-O Event Female leaders will share their career insights on Thursday, March 31, 5:30 p.m. at NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, Manhattan campus. R.S.V.P. to sbermu02@nyit.edu.
"Breakfast of Champions" Professional Development Series Join Liz Sposato, assistant director, NYIT Career Services, and Danielle Apfelbaum, Librarian II, for a workshop on Myers-Briggs Type Indicator on Friday April 1, 9:30 a.m. at the Office of Career Services, 26 W. 61st St., second floor, Manhattan campus. NYIT Center for Sports Medicine Events Join the NYIT community at an upcoming professional development series and concussion conference in Rockefeller Auditorium at the Old Westbury campus. To attend, R.S.V.P. to sportsmed@nyit.edu. Events include:
- Concussion Professional Development Series Learn about concussion management for health professionals on Wednesday, April 6, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Event is open to NYIT faculty members who are physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and trainers.
- NYIT Sports Concussion Conference You're invited to a free conference about awareness, treatment, and management of concussions for athletes and their trainers and parents on Wednesday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. Event is open to all NYIT students and faculty and staff members.
TIAA-CREF Appointments A TIAA-CREF representative will visit NYIT's Manhattan campus (16 W. 61st St., room 1118) on Wednesday, April 6 and Monday, May 9 to provide personal investment and retirement counseling for NYIT employee program participants. Appointments may be scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 1.800.732.8353.
"Understanding Place" Exhibition View visual highlights of seven years of research on Dhaka, Bangladesh, by architecture firm KieranTimberlake through Thursday, April 7 at NYIT School of Architecture and Design Center Gallery, Education Hall, Old Westbury campus. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Student for a Day The Office of Admissions invites current NYIT students to share their experiences with newly admitted students. The Student for a Day program runs through Thursday, April 7. Slots are still open. Read more.
Leadership Lecture Learn about African American male leadership in today's society at a lecture hosted by NYIT Student Affairs on Friday, April 8, 10 a.m. at NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, Manhattan campus. Guest speaker is Kevin Rome, Ph.D., president of Lincoln University of Missouri. Event is free for NYIT students, alumni, and faculty and staff members. R.S.V.P. for the event.
