Campus Access Guidelines Update
June 17, 2021
Dear New York Tech students, faculty, and staff,
On Tuesday, Governor Cuomo announced that most COVID restrictions have been lifted now that 70 percent of adult New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
New York Tech is in the process of updating all of our campus access and COVID guidelines to align with New York State. We continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of the entire campus community, but anticipate coming back to campus in the fall under near-normal conditions. More information will follow in the coming days and weeks as we prepare for the fall.
In the meantime, effective immediately, we will no longer require daily health screens and temperature checks to access campus. Masks and social distancing will not be required for vaccinated individuals (non-vaccinated individuals and Academic Health Care Center staff and visitors must wear masks on campus). Offices and research labs can operate at full density; dining facilities and fitness centers are able to operate without restrictions; and there is no longer a limit on the size of gatherings.
We encourage those who have not yet received the COVID vaccine to make an appointment to be vaccinated at the Academic Health Care Center or a local provider.
Sincerely,
Hank Foley, Ph.D.
President, New York Institute of Technology
