Spring Semester Greetings
January 28, 2021
Dear New York Tech students,
Welcome to New York Tech’s spring 2021 semester! While our medical and health professions students are already on campus, many others will be starting in-person classes on March 1, and others have opted for an entirely virtual semester. Wherever you are and whatever your major is, we’re honored that you’ve chosen New York Tech to pursue your studies.
We should all be proud of the ways we've been able to come together while, for the most part, being apart, and for the individual and collective efforts that contribute to our maker-doer culture, even in the age of COVID-19. I know we will continue to build on our many accomplishments this semester as we look forward to a time when we can all be back together on campus.
As always, we remain committed to ensuring a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for all our students. As we did in the fall, we’ve endeavored to ensure that your overall experiences inside and outside the classroom will be of the highest quality.
Our faculty and staff continue to take extra effort and care to offer you myriad opportunities to engage, connect, and learn…or, as we say at New York Tech, to do, make, heal, and innovate. I also encourage you to reach out and take advantage of the many resources we have to help you, from academic support and career services to mental health counseling and co-curricular programming, and more. We are here to support you in every way possible! You can find information about those resources, campus access policies, COVID-19 updates, and more in the Student FAQs section of our spring reopening web pages.
In closing, I want to remind each of you that the safety of our campus and our communities depends on vigilant compliance with public health guidelines. If you plan on being on campus, you’ll need to complete an online health screen prior to arrival and wear face coverings while on campus. We will also continue to adhere to social distancing and hand washing guidelines.
In closing, I wish each of you a prosperous, successful, and healthy spring semester as we work together to navigate new challenges with resilience and optimism for the future that New York Tech is known for.
Sincerely,
Hank Foley, Ph.D.
President, New York Institute of Technology
